The councilor of Finance of Talavera de la Reina, Jesús García-Barroso, presented the budgets for the year 2025, highlighting that they amount to 85,009,275 euros. This amount is a significant increase compared to the previous year, representing 14.89% more than the 2024 budgets.
Regarding the distribution of income, it was detailed that in Chapter I of Direct Taxes, it is expected to collect 33,290,000 euros, while in Chapter II of Indirect Taxes the figure reaches 3,686,500 euros. On the other hand, in Chapter III of Fees, public prices, and other income, it is estimated to reach 13,873,000 euros.
García-Barroso emphasized that financing for the fight against gender-based violence will be increased, highlighting an increase in the Shelter House program of 65,000 euros. Support for families in situations of social exclusion was also mentioned with an additional allocation of 30,000 euros in the budget.
Regarding expenses, it was detailed that Personnel Expenses amount to 32,759,636.00 euros, marking an increase of 5.96% compared to the previous year. In Chapter 2 of Current Expenses in Goods and Services, 25,698,466.52 euros are allocated, 14.72% more than in the previous exercise.
Real Investments for 2025 total 6,734,674.48 euros, representing an increase of 179.87% compared to 2024. These investments will direct towards improvement projects in infrastructures such as public road repairs, paving, asphalting, and conditioning of urban roads, among others.
In general, García-Barroso emphasized that these historic and ambitious budgets seek to improve the quality of life of the citizens of Talavera de la Reina, maintaining economic stability and prioritizing the prosperous growth of the city amid a difficult economic and labor situation.
